Were they having problems with the lighting? Was it too strong?

I guess Phil Manzanera was the only one that already knew the lights were too bright and got on stage with his shades on!  :)

I first saw the DVD box set from BBC's famous "The Old Grey Whistle Test" program at a friend's house and let me tell you that it's worth every penny.
